Overview
Flame Studio ("Flame Studio", "we", "us", or "our") is an independent studio operated by Mohammad Faisal Arfat Mohammad Sajid, based in Maharashtra, India. We build mobile and web products, including Panelix. We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little personal data as possible.
This Privacy Policy applies to this website and to all Flame Studio products — including mobile apps and web apps (each, a "Product"). Where a specific Product handles data differently, we describe that in the Product-specific notices section below. By using our website or any of our Products, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information, depending on how you use our website and Products:
Information you provide
- Content you create — prompts, character descriptions, titles, uploaded images, and other inputs you submit to generate results within an App.
- Communications — your email address and message content when you contact support.
- Purchase information — records of in-app purchases or subscriptions (processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details).
Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data — app version, device model, operating-system version, language, crash logs, and basic interaction events used to keep the Product stable.
- Identifiers — a randomly-generated app or device identifier used to associate purchases, credits, and content with your installation.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-app advertising.
How we use information
- To provide core Product functionality — for example, generating comics in Panelix from your inputs.
- To process purchases, manage credits, and restore entitlements.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance and quality.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important service updates.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
Product-specific privacy notices
Each Flame Studio product — whether a mobile app or a web app — may collect slightly different data depending on what it does. Notices for individual Products appear below and will be added here as we publish more.
How accounts work: by default you use Panelix anonymously — we create a random account identifier on first launch with no personal data attached. You can optionally upgrade your account using Sign in with Apple to keep your purchases and library across reinstalls and devices.
What we collect: the text prompts, story descriptions, character details, dialogue, titles, style settings, and any photos you choose to upload to create characters; the comics generated for you; your purchase history and credit balance; and standard device/usage diagnostics (app version, OS version, crash logs, language).
How we use it: your prompts, character details and uploaded photos are transmitted to the AI generation providers listed below, solely to produce your comic. Uploaded photos are used only to create your stylized character bibles and as references for panels. Generated comics and characters are stored so you can view, edit, regenerate, share, or delete them in your in-app history and library.
Photo permission: Panelix asks for photo-library access only when you choose to use one of your own pictures as a character reference. We do not access your photos in the background or upload any photo you didn't explicitly select.
Service providers used by Panelix
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and primary database | Account identifier, your library metadata, generated comic references |
| Fly.io | Application server hosting (Singapore region) | All Panelix API traffic |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and consumable purchase management | Anonymized purchase identifiers, App Store receipts |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Story breakdown and dialogue polishing | Your prompts, story text and panel descriptions |
| Google (Gemini) | AI image generation for enhanced comics and character bibles | Your prompts and uploaded character photos at generation time |
| Seedream (image-generation service) | AI image generation for standard comic panels | Your prompts and character reference images at generation time |
| DeepL | Dialogue translation | Dialogue text only, no account identifier attached |
| PostHog | Product analytics and crash diagnostics (US-hosted) | Account identifier, anonymized event names, device/OS info |
| Meta (Facebook) | Advertising measurement only — runs only after you grant App Tracking permission | App-install and conversion events; never the content of your comics |
Sign in with Apple in Panelix: if you choose to sign in, we receive the stable Apple account identifier and (only if you allow on first sign-in) your name and email — used solely to identify your account and contact you about important service or security matters. Anonymous use is fully supported as the default.
Tracking in Panelix: Panelix asks for App Tracking permission once, after onboarding. This controls only whether install and conversion events are shared with Meta for advertising measurement. Choosing Ask App Not to Track stops those events entirely; all core features (generation, purchases, library, sign-in) work identically either way.
Where data is processed: Singapore (application servers) and the United States (RevenueCat, PostHog, most AI providers). Some providers may process content in the European Union.
Your control: you can delete individual comics and characters in the app at any time. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, open Settings → Delete my account in Panelix, or email us (see Account deletion below).
As Flame Studio releases new Products, a product-specific notice describing exactly what each one collects and why will be added to this section.
AI processing & your content
Some Products, including Panelix, use third-party AI models to generate content from your inputs. To do this, the inputs you provide (such as prompts and images) are transmitted securely to these providers for the sole purpose of generating your result. We instruct our providers not to use your content to train their models where such an option is available. We do not claim ownership of the content you create — see our Terms & Conditions for details on content rights.
Service providers we use
We share information only with service providers who help us run our website and Products, and only to the extent necessary. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers. Every Flame Studio Product uses at least these two universal providers:
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Apple, Inc. | App distribution, in-app purchases, and optionally Sign in with Apple where supported |
| Cloudflare | Hosts this studio website and serves it through a CDN; receives standard server logs for visitors |
Each Product uses additional providers — AI services, databases, payment management, analytics — that depend on what the Product does. The full list of providers for a given Product, and what each one receives, is in that Product's notice in Product-specific notices above.
We instruct any AI-generation providers not to use your content for training their models where such an option is available, and we transmit your content over HTTPS. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Flame Studio and our users.
Sign in with Apple
Where a Product supports Sign in with Apple, signing in is always optional — the Product remains usable without it. When you choose to sign in, Apple sends us a stable account identifier and, if you allow it on first sign-in, may also share your name and an email address (which may be a relay address that hides your real email). We store this only to identify your account and to contact you for important service or security matters. Apple's "Hide My Email" preference is fully respected — we never attempt to reveal a hidden address.
You can stop sharing your email with a Product at any time through your Apple ID settings: Settings → Apple Account → Sign-in & Security → Apps Using Apple ID → [Product] → Stop Using Apple ID. Doing so disconnects your Apple ID from the Product; if you also want your associated data removed, follow Account deletion below.
Tracking & App Tracking Transparency
Where a Product uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, iOS will show you a system dialog asking whether you allow the app to track. Choosing Ask App Not to Track is fully respected, the choice is remembered, and the Product's core features continue to work identically. What "tracking" specifically covers in a given Product — for example, sharing install or conversion events with an advertising platform — is described in that Product's notice.
International data transfers
Flame Studio operates from India. Depending on the Product, your information may be processed by service providers based outside India, including in Singapore, the United States, and the European Union. The specific regions a given Product uses are listed in its product-specific notice. By using our website or any Product you understand and consent to your information being transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence. We rely on the standard contractual safeguards offered by these providers to protect cross-border transfers.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide our services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Content you create is retained so you can access it within the Product; you may delete it at any time. Diagnostic data is retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to address vulnerabilities promptly.
Children's privacy
Our Products are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, port it to another service, or object to certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in-app (for example, deleting comics and characters, signing out, or deleting your account), or by emailing us. We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law (including the GDPR and the CCPA where applicable), and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account in any Flame Studio Product, and all data associated with it, in two ways:
- In the Product: each Product that supports accounts offers an in-app deletion option. The exact location is listed in that Product's notice in Product-specific notices. Confirming the action immediately removes your account record and all associated content from our database. The action is irreversible.
- By email: if you cannot access the Product, write to flame-apps@outlook.com from the email associated with your account (or describe enough to let us identify it) and tell us which Product the request is for. We will verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days, and confirm by email when it's done.
Deleting your account also disconnects it from your Apple ID. Any active subscription continues to bill through Apple until you cancel it in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions — we cannot cancel App Store subscriptions on your behalf. Limited information may be retained where required by law (for example, tax records for paid purchases) or to defend against legal claims; such records are stored securely and not used for any other purpose.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of our website or Products after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
